Unofficial Certification Guide:
2V0-621
The 2V0-621 exam validates that you have the skills required to successfully install, deploy, scale and manage VMware vSphere 6 environments.

My original intention was to create my own "Certification Guide" from the Exam Topics "blueprint" provided by VMware here . However, as I started building my own guide, I realized others had already done so. Rather than re-inventing the wheel, I focused my studies on those certification guides, supplementing where necessary with other sources that I will drop below.

It's worth noting that I already had a VCP4 and VCP5, so I didn't have to take the class for this exam. If you're new to VMware certifications, or your VCP has expired, go join VMUG Advantage (being a member gives you crazy discounts on stuff) and take the bootcamp. You can sign up here .

Certification Guides:
  • VEEAM has a pretty good guide for this exam available for download here .
  • Vladan Seget ( @vladan ) put together a great guide as well. It can be found on his website, www.vladan.fr

Supplemental material:
  • vBrownBag Youtube Channel is amazing. Video playlist for this certification can be found here .
  • I normally don't read books, but at VMworld 2016, I picked up a free copy of the VCP6-DCV Official Cert Guide, written by my good friend John Davis ( @johnnyadavis ). I dug into this book periodically & I feel like it was a great tool. Amazon has it available here .
  • I'm fortunate enough to have a great lab at home and at work, but for those of you who may not be so lucky, check out VMware's Hands On Labs (HOL). They have a ton of labs set up to do specific things, but you don't HAVE to follow their instructions. If you just want to click around to see where things are or how to configure something, just open up a random vSphere lab & go nuts. HOL is free and available here .
  • If you have a few bucks, check out the VMware Certification Exam Prep, located here . It's only $240, and offers a great high level understanding of the technologies the exam will cover. NOTE: This does not meet or fulfill the course requirement for Certification.
  • If  you have a few more bucks, go sign up for VMware Learning Zone. The Premium package gives you 1 year of access to everything in the Learning Zone library, access to all Exam preps, and allows you to access any new material added during that 1 year. You can sign up here for $800.
